Apostle Emmanuel Coleman: A Heart for Community and Worship

Apostle Emmanuel Coleman Sr.
Apostle Emmanuel Coleman is a devoted servant of God, Senior Pastor of Community 2nd Friendly Baptist Church in Springfield Gardens, New York, and a respected radio personality with a heart for ministry both inside and beyond the church walls. He is a seasoned servant of God whose life and ministry reflect decades of unwavering faith, dedication, and compassionate leadership. With over 22 years of faithful service, he continues to lead with spiritual authority, compassion, and integrity.
Born in Brooklyn, New York, Apostle Coleman is the first son of six siblings and was raised in a God-fearing household by a preacher and faithful servant of the Lord. From an early age, he was taught to honor the work of God, developing a deep love for the Gospel of Jesus Christ and a lifelong commitment to nurturing others in faith and service.
Licensed to preach through the Church of God in Christ in 1980, Apostle Coleman has faithfully served in numerous leadership capacities. He previously served as assistant to the late Bishop Norman Quick in the Southeast Jurisdiction of the New York Church of God in Christ and has founded churches throughout Greater New York and North Carolina since 1983. For the past five years, he has led Community Second Baptist Church with spiritual integrity, wisdom, and pastoral care.
Apostle Coleman is widely respected for his support of churches and families during both celebratory and challenging seasons. He has faithfully preached, prayed, played, and prophesied at worship services, revivals, and special occasions, while also walking closely with families during times of bereavement. He serves the community with compassion as a New York State-recognized Chaplain, offering spiritual guidance and comfort when it is most needed. In addition to pastoral leadership and radio ministry, Apostle Coleman also serves families and communities by officiating funeral and memorial services when called upon, offering comfort, hope, and spiritual guidance during times of loss.
Gifted musically, Apostle Coleman began using his talents in ministry at a young age. Encouraged to pursue godly creative expression, his musical gifts expanded beyond piano to include singing, songwriting, and lyricism. He has released two completed gospel albums, with additional musical works currently in production, all created to glorify God and edify His people. As a gifted musician and pianist, Apostle Coleman uses worship as a powerful gateway into the presence of God, creating an atmosphere where lives are encouraged, restored, and strengthened through the Word. His ministry reflects a balance of sound teaching, heartfelt praise, and genuine care for God’s people.
Extending his reach through media, Apostle Coleman hosts a weekly radio broadcast every Thursday from 6:00 AM to 10:00 AM on WHCR 90.3 FM (whcr.org), where he shares the Word of God, inspirational messages, and uplifting music that blesses listeners near and far.
Apostle Coleman’s ministry is marked by faithfulness, longevity, and a genuine passion for serving God’s people—impacting lives through worship, teaching, media, and community service.
